Ok, at the risk of sounded conceited, I think I'm a pretty good catch. I'm 22, a law student, a member of Phi Beta Kappa...I ride horses, play the cello, sing, and ski. I love to travel, and most guys tell me I'm really attractive. Yet, I'm always told, "If I had known you liked me, I would have asked you out." Why do guys find me so intimidating?

Today in this world, women in general have proven that they are able to anything when they put their mind to it. That can match the work force of a man. But what aslo now comes with this is now a telling to guys you are no longer dependent... a guys mind works to help those who need help. If you can do everthing yourself we have nothing to feel good about ourselves. We like being able to fix the car, mow the lawn, sharpen the blades for the mower, fix plumming, and etc. If you have no need for that then it makes it hard to break the ice. So do to culture shock of women takeing a little more control in this world the roles have now become even. There for It would be safe to say as well you might want to think about why is it that you aren't approaching them, and asking them. Most girls say well a girl wants to be picked up by a knight. wisked off her feet. Well If you your self make your self in to a "independent" woman you now need to except you may need to be the knight. Obviously you can't do this your entire life it is not want you want to do because you you were not hard wired like that, But what is one time stepping up and saying I like you. Start it off, just let him continue with it.

Not all guys are intimidated by independent women. I would say that it might be that independent women sometimes take it too far. No you cant be too independent, but if your the type of girl that is so self centered on how independent and great you are, its actually kind of a turn off. Men want a girl that they can have a relationship with not just another event that has to be scheduled in the life of the girl.

Not all of us are intimidated by such women. I prefer an active, independent woman it keeps the relationship more interesting. But guys do have a pride complex where we must provide and "take care" of our women someone with your accomplishments is hard to compete with.

You haven't met the right guy yet. Don't give up what you have going on in your life just to date some guy that doesn't have the motivation that you have. Wait, and keep up all the things you love you will meet Mr. Perfect. You are young and sound like you have your life together, enjoy!

My girl is the best, smartest, most beautiful, and most skilled in almost anything and very famous in my class. I'm the stupidest, quietest, unattractive (well, not really), guy in the same class. Yet I asked her out with a flower and she is now my girlfriend. I'm not intimidated, but seduced!

Some guys are not self-confident enough to approach an intelligent woman. I guess they are afraid of us turning them down. Lucky for me I met a great guy who looked at the person inside and wasn't afraid to take a chance with me.

They think you focus more on your education and hobbies than your love life. Some men actually find it sexy, so keep looking. You do sound like a great catch.

sometimes theyre hard to read. if theyve told you that they couldnt read your feelings, they might be confusing your liking for friendship. i dont find independent women intimidating at all, but then again, im a bad reader of feelings. :-p

because you're too good to be true. men sometimes wants their girls to be dependent on them. and sometimes its good to pretent you don't know something and let them explain it to you. the bottom line is, when women are too independent and in a relationship men thinks you can always pack up and leave anytime. no compromises.
