The scientific name for dandruff is Pityriasis capitis. It is the excessive flaking of dead skin that forms on the scalp. The most common cause of dandruff is the fungus Malassezia furfur. This fungus is normal flora on all of our bodies but different peoples immune systems respond differently. I have furfur on my back and chest and causes tinea versicolor. All i do is rub selsun blue on my skin about a half hour before i get in the shower. It contains Selenieum Sulfide which kills the fungus. My skin looks great now.

The top of your head (scalp) getting dry. The best cure is a good moisturizing shampoo. If you are unsure of what brands would be best for you go to your local salon and ask. Everyone's hair/scalp is different and usually your local salon hair person can recommend the one that would be best for you.
Hey...it happens to everyone at some point in time or another
