I have a problem with the hoildays. My parents are devorced so for the hoildays I am suppost to see my dad for one and my mum for the other. The thing is this thanksgiving I told my mum that I would come over to her house for dinner, well just after that she said she might be working so my plans were on hold. A few days latter I got a call from my dad wanting me to go spend thanksgiving with him and my aunt and younger brother. Well then my mum decided she was going to stay home from work. Now I'm stuck. I Have my mum who wants me there and my dad that wants me somewhere else. Theres no way that I can go both places and no way we can have it together. What should I do????

since your mom was unavailable at first you were free to make alternate plans
explain it to her and tell you will see her for Christmas

if she gets upset ask her how she would feel if you called her to change your plans after you had accepted her invitation
she is the one who said she was unavailable
send her some flowers to let her know you are thinking of her

Tell mum, that after she told you she was working for thanksgiving, you told dad you would go there.
So she already made your decision for you.
Tell her ..I"m sorry mum, but I've already commited myself to dad.

My parents are divorced also, so I know about the holiday marathon. How about seeing if you can get them each to adjust their dinner time a little, so you can go to both?

Happy Holidays!
