responses very strange?

I don't wish to be disrespectful, but why exactly can't you people agree on much of anything - aren't you all Christians? And what makes you so hoilier-than-thouish? If you don't like my questions just don't answer - but iinsulting me isn't called for.

Just asking...

Your right in a way, insulting you isn't called for, nor is condescension. However, all Christians aren't rude and they all don't act in the manner you state. I am a Christian and I know I've not insulted you nor been rude to you. As for holier than thou, Jesus saved his strongest rebukes for the pharisees because of this attitude and their hypocrisy, and the pharisees were the religious leaders of those days. If you ask a valid and intelligent question that I happen to read I will attempt to give you the most honest answer that I can, if indeed I know the answer. Some of our responses may seem strange to you because we rely on the Bible, a book with which you may not be entirely familiar. Contrary to what you think and stated, Christians don't disagree on everything. We all agree on the fundamental teachings of the Bible about God, salvation, who Jesus was etc. There are some minor differences of opinion about unimportant issues that are meaningless for salvation, such as baptism and communion, but this is inevitable when you have several different human beings who are all fallen creatures. Yet as a whole the different churches are amazingly united in their beliefs. I'm speaking of true Christian churches, not churches that merely claim to be Christian. I'd list some examples but I'm sure it would offend someone.

I am sorry Stacy on behalf of all "Christians" I have found many people in here, from all beliefs show very little respect. Then again there are some good ones too.

I am a Christian and I know we get preachy, holier than thou and the rest. Please allow your heart to forgive. A true Christian would never judge you. And if they did they should seek your forgiveness. These people are not to be fought, but pitied in my view.

I respect all opinions and all people, I think this makes me a better Christian. I do notice that some come looking for fights, on both sides. Lets keep open minds and hope it catches on, rather than feeding an already ugly fire.

Thanks for your honesty Stacy

love
DAVID

I, also, am embarassed by the quantity and level of
abuse heaped upon people by Christian zealots
especially those that profess to believe every word in the bible. I find that most of these people are relatively uneducated and uninformed about the bible and the history of the christian church as it evolved and broke
into many various sects. In my estimation, you cannot
convince a stranger of some ideology by calling him names, criticizing him, or casting ridicule upon him.
That is the failing of zealots. Please look up that word in the dictionary and understand/learn the difference between extremism and normality. Today we hear a lot
about radical muslims being the cause of most of the problems in the arab world. Err-r what do you call a
radical christian? Is that a zealot? Thank goodness the extremist christians haven't started strapping bombs around their waists, or driving car bombs into the opposition as yet.

Also please remember that just because you try to yell
something louder than any one else, that doesn't make what you are yelling more correct than someone elses
thoughts or beliefs. The same thing may be said about the number of times you post the identical question on Yahoo Answers. The quantity of times it appears in print
does not make it any more correct, or any better as far as being believed and accepted. Is there someone out there that thinks you can make flocks of conversions to christianity by brow beating them day after day after day with the same hooplah?

Well, I have found hard core non believers to be rude, condescending and just plain mean more so than Christians. I have seen such people say Christians are stupid, and that is the mildest insult so far.

I have seen people of all faiths, including Christians, act rude & condescending. And of the strange responses, have you ever met people who talk like that in person? A lot of them need some psychiatric care. :)

Christians don't believe they are holier than thou....only the douchbag Christians believe that. Me, I only believe God is holier than thou. Like anybody in society, it depends on the person. Condescending Christians give the religion a bad name (aside from the wars...those weren't cool)

All people can be rude at times. It is a matter of opinion. Things that you think are rude may seem nice to others. Some might think your question is rude.

I've found some christians rude but never found one condensing. Does that mean they are releasing moisture because the air around them is warmer than they are?
