If you say we are saved by faith alone, then you are saying that we don’t need to love anyone! Even God, in order to be saved!
If we need to love in order to be saved, then we are not saved by faith ALONE, because loving someone is a work.
Catholics put it like this: We are saved by God's grace.

person: where does it say that in the Bible. You go by the Bible alone, right?

I don't mean to attack, I'm just curious, so don't be offended.

Of course we need to love one another!
"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another." -Jesus, John 13:34
And yes, we are saved by God's grace, not faith. One can believe in God & still not serve Him.

Your quote is, if we are saved by faith, then we are saying we don't need to love anyone. Huh? That makes no sense. Jesus said "if you love me, you will obey my commandments". Salvation is not dependent upon what we do (Ephesians tells us, for it is by grace we are saved, through faith, not by works, that any man should boast")....that doesn't mean we are not to love God, love others, and do what the Lord would have us do.

Based on your question alone the answer is yes. We are called to love God before all others and to love others as ourselves.
That in and of itself does not alter salvation. We love because we are saved. We are not saved because we love.
Do you understand what salvation is? It's word that tends to get thrown around a lot without a clear definition.
1st: Ask yourself - have you ever sinned? If you are honest you will answer yes.
2nd: The bible says that the wages of sin is death. Simply put if you sin you die or go to hell
3rd: You are standing before Christ (He is the judge) and you have admitted that you have committed a crime called sin. You may plead insanity or beg for mercy but a true judge, a GOOD judge will not be able to accept your peas in good consonce. Now you have a problem.
4th: THE GOOD NEWS - Christ - your judge has removed his robe and taken your place and punishment for your crimes. His punishment was far greater than anyone could imagine. He was tortured (because of you), spit on (because of you), made fun of (because of you), stripped naked (because of you), and nailed to a cross (because of you). He very literally paid for your sins.
Knowing this - what wouldn't you do for your king and judge? Wouldn't you try to love others as much as he loves you?
Your sins have been paid for. All you have to do is accept that, thank him and let him be your king, savior, friend, judge, and guide.
Jesus chose to die for each of us - We need to choose to accept that gift and spend eternity with him.
God Bless

As Luther stated: good trees bear good fruit. He believed that if one was saved by God, s/he was a good tree. As a good tree, good fruit would grow, so someone elected by God for salvation would love other people. However, it is possible to love others even if one is not elected for salvation.
Regardless, everyone should love humanity.

No, you don't have to love anyone to be saved. All that needs to be done is admitting sin, recieving Christ. That is it.
With salvation comes a new nature that is of God, and is love.

This may sound like a generalization, but the trend today seems to be that most people have just enough religion in their hearts to hate and not enough to love.

John 11:10-12
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you
Sounds like that is the command of our Lord to me.... Jim
