BCT is 8 weeks in the Army. But I knew guys that were recycled in the mid '70s and I am sure that thought it was an eternity.

I went straight to OCS after basic and there were several older guys there...I was 22 some as old as 29 (the cut off then) and some of them were moronic and washed out of or quit OCS. So age isn't the only determinant.

Good luck.

It differs from one branch of the service to the next. These other bozos are only telling you part. expect 8 to 13 weeks for b.c. and if you can not stand being around the young ones it might be even harder when a youth is in charge of you

The physical training itself in general last appoximately 6-8 weeks. This will change based on your physical conditon upon entering the service and taking the fitness test. Also after the initial physical training they will train you in a job. The time for this training will natually vary depending on your MOS
