versus the amount of dead military personnel we get back? 40%? 50%? more? I keep on hearing about people who come back once, twice, & then are deployed again..... It seems to be a big secret. The news is more concerned with Brittney & Kevin than our military.

One of our local National Guard units is getting ready for their third deployment to Iraq. This unit has not volunteered for redeployment...they have been ordered. I think if you do some research, you will find that Guard and Reserve units are being ordered back to the war zones of Iraq and Afghanistan more than once, and they aren't raising their hands saying, "Send me, send me". These are men with jobs and families, and they didn't sign up to be permanent active duty.

Come on just do the math; it is just basic math.

At the most basic level simply find the ratio or percentage of 130,000 currently deployed troops and the 2840 currently reported deaths as of today. The math is so simple I refuse to do it for you. But 40%, 50%? Even a 6th grader should be able to simply look at the 2 numbers and approximate the percentage.

FYI....a ratio and a percentage are not the same.

By the way...I agree with you regarding the pop singers you mention.

Atleast 100,000 troops have been in country concurrently since the start of the war. If the troops take 6 month shifts (not sure on the exact number). 32 months have passed since the invasion started, which would be 5 and 1/3 shifts. Therefore atleast 540,000 servicemen have cycled through Iraq. Of those men 3500 have died. That would mean 1 in 154 has died or .00649% (very rough estimate).

What's sad is that of the 99% (they say) of ours coming back, about 99% of them will suffer varying degrees of mental injuries. However something more startling was put on the plate for world to hear. Alot of our worthy vets are getting one HELp of a runaround when seeking care for injuries encountered in Iraq/Afghan. At least 1/2 are lonely, suffering defensive responses to everyday common normalities but will stand up for their country and their cause regardless of the hap-hazard ordeal they barely survived. Happy Veteran's Day & Blessed Holidays!

From reports of numbers deployed vs numbers KIA I would estimate more than 99%+ return alive

For your Vietnam Conflict 2 million were deployed 55,008 KIA do the math.

one million. with the aid of fact they dont choose the oil. 2. with the aid of fact mexico hasnt meddled in the affairs of the middle east, helping israel, waging conflict on islam. Mexico isn't a objective of center eastern terroism. What we could desire to do is capture the illegals with the aid of fact the come around the border, provide them weapons and preparation and deliver to Iraq to combat. we could desire to tell them that by making use of combat "terror" for 5 years they could now be in line to persist with to qualify for american citizenship. They'e be the acceptable christian warriors in view that they're almost ninety% catholic. President Bush could desire to easily convince them the comparable way he's conviced the different non secular conservatives that islam is a raffle to the "american dream" and if "Terror" wins they wont have the potential to make a sparkling existence in united statesa.. merely till now the 5 365 days era is up we could renege in prevalent american style take in the weapons and deliver em lower back to the place they got here from. confident outstanding, i be attentive to....

2289 military members have died in hostile actions and 556 in "non-hostal"(ie. auto accident, heart attack, plane crash, suicide, even 1 lost at sea) so total lost 2845 in iraq and we have 137,000 members in iraq. we have been there for 5 years so we have sent(some more than once) about 685,000 and about 682,000 came back alive. thats 99.5% that came back alive.

It's no secret.
Your percentages are way off.
Many of the military who come home, volunteer to go back and serve their country some more.

I have no idea of the %, but it is much lower than you said, My guess would be 4% or less. But 1% is too high for we should not be there at all.
