As far as I know......THEY ARN'T. The Jewish culture though does put a very high degree of importance on education. Just as most Asian cultures do.

I've read some of the other answers, wow. For one thing, they may be intelligent because they feel they can control the world with money. The second thing is that their intelligence is not from them being smart on their own. Anyone can be intelligent, its just how bad they want to be intelligent.
I liked the comment on how are they going to answer to God for rejecting His son. They were at one time His chosen people, but they denied that fact by rejecting God's son when the time came for them to make their choice. So if you think they are blessed well think again. To speak freely, it is all people who accept the perfect will of God and obey His commandments without deception, or compromise. God's son came down to let them know they were being given a chance to redeem themselves. Who in their right mind would reject a Superior Being when He gave them everything they could ever want, especially freedom from bondage. They kept rejecting Him and when things went bad they called on Him again and again. What did they keep doing, they kept going back and forth, and He got tired of it finally. It was the straw that broke the camels back when they did not accept His son. So thats why the Gentiles were given the chance to accept God and His principals. That means anyone who was not of Jewish decent, although that does not mean all Jews rejected the son.

their is evidence that Jews of European decent have a higher IQ on average then any other ethnic group.
As for the reasons for this many have suggested it is because of the types of jobs that Jews had for century's were ones that required more intelligence. As a result those that were smarter were more successful and had more kids as well.

How can you say we (Jews) are more intelligent than all others??? Have you conducted some kind of a survey that compared the intelligence OF ALL PEOPLE IN THE WORLD???

I don't think it's about intelligence... They've been through so much, that they learned what it means to really struggle and now they're more ambitious, that's all.
There's no such thing as a nation/race being more intelligent than the others, we all have our good and bad, our stupid and smart etc.

They are not more intelligent than others. They put more emphasis on education and getting a better job than most people do. They just work harder.

Not more intelligent, more blessed. Because God's hand is on the chosen people, and they bless the Children every Friday while Christians and others almost never pray over their children.

I've never seen anything that would elevate the Jewish people in their intelligence above any other group.

survival of the fittest. when you're being murdered all throughout history only the smartest and most adaptive survived. and they are the only ones who went on to procreate. all the others simply died or were assimilated into the masses.
