I dont know what it is...I get so mad when I go to chruch. I feel like every one there is pretending to be perfect. I get nothing out of the sermons. I love God and believe Jesus died on the cross for my sins. I just feel like the church is making a mockary of him. It's not just my church it's all churches. It's the polictics, money, numbers, potlucks and picnics. It's getting questioned by everyone if you didnt show up to sunday school...I feel like they think they will be saved by the church not Jesus. How can we make a difference in this world if we spend all week in a building? I find it all very selfish. I need some words of encourgment. My husband is so disappointed by my attitude and I cant seem to pull my self out of this rut.

I know I have alot of issues in my own life with "sin" being difficult is the thorn is my side. I have never been a "sheep" and I have a hard time jsut believing what other people tell me. I dont mean to point fingers at others. I have prayed and prayed and this is as far as I've gotten. I am no better than anyone else...I guesss I just cant put God in a box like most people.

Congratulations, you are a true Christian. In the truest sense of the ideology of Christianity, the idea is to follow the teachings of Christ, as far as I can tell from the Bible and it's writings on Jesus, he did not believe in organized religion, he for saw that any institutionalization of religion would become corrupt. So to summarize my analysis on the subject, anyone who attends church as a Christian is not being true to the teachings of Christ. Remember spirituality is not religion, but personal religion can be spiritual, although I am agnostic, think a person's religion should be personal, and between you and your God alone.

Unfortunately the Church is made up of humans and all humans are imperfect. I should say that you can't paint "all" churches with the same brush. Maybe you simply need to keep looking for the church that is more suitable for you. There are many reasons why you may not be getting anything out of the sermons. You need to read the Bible for yourself to see if what the minister is teaching is true. If it isn't it's your obligation and responsibility to challenge him. Church is there so we may grow as Christians, fellowship with other Christians -short comings and all- worship God and His Son and to learn from God's Word. Don't throw your hands up in despair, seek God's counsel about this through prayer and meditation on His Word

You're obviously stuck in rut, try a different Church of your liking, meet some different people who share your views. Or Stop going to church for a while, and reconnect with God on a personal spiritual level. Find a special place where you feel most comfortable and mediate.

Gotta go with the majority on this. Go Church hoping until you find one that feels right. Wife and I did. Took a couple of years but we have found a Church that is non-judgemental, very friendly, believes in Jesus, uses the Bible, and does not pass the plate (it sits near the entrance and you put in what you want to put in...nobody checks to see if you put in your 10%).

Go looking. It may take some time, but you'll find one. Don't overlook the one's with no building. Ours meets in a school gymnasium! Oh, and it's Lutheran (not that it matters).

Sounds like your church has become a legalistic social club.
Not all churches are like that.
Go shopping for a church that feeds you the spiritual food you desire, without all the extraneous extras that the world seem to want. Try something non-denominational, or a smaller Bible Church that actually teaches the Bible instead of preaching cliche's.
Going to a church won't get you into heaven.
Jesus gets us there on His own.

Look around for a supportive church. Our church has a box in back for tithes and never comes up to you to ask why you have not tithed. They are concerned for you if you are not at church but never condemn anyone for not coming. Try an Orthodox church. Orthodox churches are more concerned for the people than the politics.

Sounds like you should visit a couple of other churches until you find the one that will help you grow spiritually. You should also be out and about in your community edifying the Lord by helping where needed or finding something positive to do to give back.

Try a few other churches, other denominations. My church is great but there is another near me. Huge church! As soon as you walk in you can just feel the phoniness. No way would I want to be member of that one.

I would go to the Lord in prayer and ask Him to reveal what is going on in your heart. You seem to be looking at everyone else and pointing the fingers at all these "phonies"...but I suspect there is sin someplace in you that you are not dealing with. A person who is clean in front of God does not, through their eyes, see fault everywhere, they see people, like themselves, who are imperfect and need love, compassion and forgiveness.

I pray that God work in your heart revelation, humility, forgiveness, compassion and obedience to His leading and teaching, and I ask this in Jesus' name.
