years ago i would find lots of these types of "coins" that had no monetary value, instead they had various sexual positions on them. they were made of either brass or copper and sometimes also had astrological symbols as well...
does anyone know the origin of these coins?

Many coins have displayed this over the years. The two major types I know more about are brothel tokens from ancient Rome, and Chinese tokens originally made in the 19th century, but remade ever since to meet demand for them. The Roman brothel tokens were made so that you would not use real coins for a prostitues services, since the coins pictured the emperor. Real ones are very rare and expensive. They will look old, but round like an ordinary coin. Remakes of these have also appeared.
Chinese tokens were round with a square hole in the middle. You can still find these on Ebay, though most sellers will try to tell you they are original, 99.9% are modern forgeries. The originals are pricier, though not nearly as much as the Roman coins are. Astrological signs were also very common on these Chinese tokens as well.

The coins were often used by soldiers who would use the services of brothels in parts of the world where they didn't know the language. They would show the madam the coin and she'd arrange what he wanted. It started with the Romans who used a blend of Gold and Silver known as electrum, but it became economically more prudent to use other materials for this. Actually, this is the first gift card since you could buy those coins at a brothel, and give it to a friend who would then have it redeemed at the brothel.

these were not only used by certain businesses overseas in ancient times but are also used in modern times at various places of businesses such as at Vegas in certain casinos.
