How do you know its a bladder infection? Is the dog urinating more than usual? Is there blood in the urine? If you answer "Yes" to either or both of these questions, then you need to take the dog(or at least a urine sample) to the vet.It could be a kidney infection, diabetes or even renal failure. All of the above can be life-threatening if not treated.Even a simple bladder infection can spread to the kidneys if left untreated. The dog needs antibiotics. Please take it to the vet as soon as possible. In the meantime, make sure the dog drinks plenty of water, give it cranberry capsules and vitamin C (500 mg. 2 x a day should suffice, with food).

Cut back on the sodium in your dogs diet. This happened to our dog recently. If you are giving your dog milk bones you should stop for a few days and it should clear up. You should take your dog to the vet to make sure this is the problem..

We have used plain sugar free yogurt on our dogs. Usually 2 tbs. once a day until things clear up.

I would strongly recommend that your dog be diagnosed and treated by a veterinarian.
