I just recently had to put my cat of 12 years to sleep. :( I was just wondering what were people's opinions on cats going to heaven. I really hope they do because I miss him a lot!

My cat of 15 years probably will not make it through the night. I am very upset at the thought of him not being with me anymore. I have been asking everyone I know about cats (and all pets) being in Heaven waiting for us. I wish I could tell you definately yes or no. All I can tell you is that animals are God's creatures and I can't believe that they will NOT be allowed in Heaven. I have to believe that we will see our loved ones-and that includes our pets-when we get to heaven. The poem about the Rainbow Bridge is really something worth reading.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

If a child was raised in a closet and the parent drew a picture of the world outside, the child would still not understand what the world was really about. We cannot fully understand what Heaven will be like until we are there. Heaven is a wonderful place without the effects of sin...no pain, no sorrow, no anger, nothing negative. We may not have things that we think we now desire, but when we get there we won't care because we will be in a different state of mind that we cannot now understand. Will animals go to heaven? I don't personally believe so, but I could be wrong. If they don't, I don't think it will matter when we get there.

I was going to be mean because I have a "thing" against cats but you are obviously in pain and worried so I won't---I think you will see your cat again, I am not Christian so I do not believe in Heaven but I do believe in Summerland (Wiccan "Heaven") and I believe our animals go there so why would it be different for you? You will see your cat again so smile!

I'm sure they are. I know all of mine are there, and my 10 day old filly, and every dog I've ever owned. If they aren't in Heaven, I want to go where they are!!!

I know it hurts and there will be times when you think your over it and then it hurts again....even 3 years after only knowing her 10 days, I still get chocked up over Ember. BUT I know I'll see her again and you will see your cat too.

God Bless.

All pets are waiting at Rainbow Bridge for us to pick them up.
I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my beloved kitty after 15 years and it still hurts, albeit not as badly as at first.

Sam,
I asked a nun that same question one time and she told me. That what ever will make you happy, you will have in Heaven. Thats why they call it Heaven.

No. At least according to the Catholic Church. Cats are not smart enough to believe in god so they can't go to heaven.
Your church may have a different opinion.
