As a bargin hunter I have tried several of these companies in the past but whenever there is a problem they would always tell me to phone BT. BT cannot fix the problems if you pay line rental to another company so they like to fob you off.

All the firms that supply telecoms in the UK rent trunk capacity from BT. Any problems with the line are BT's responsibility but often it is not the line at fault but your provision service. Ring BT and ask them to check your line for faults. Chances are there won't be one and you can go to your carrier and shout at them for the incompetents they really are.
