Regular Hot Oil Treatments are good for your hair.
I have a lot of expetise with this subject. I curl my hair often, and do not have split ends at all. I also have not cut my hair (or even a trim) in over 10 years, and it is as healthy as the next person who does cut their hair. No split ends at all....
SOOOO my advice is weekly Hot oil treatments until the ends are healthier looking.
You don't have to go out and buy the expensive stuff, just use a good EVOO (extra-virgin olive oil), and heat in microwave for a few seconds to get it warm, and apply to hair for several minutes.
Hope this helps

The best method that I could suggest is to trim the split ends and then use a conditioner like Aussie 3 min. conditioner, it's great for my curly hair. Also after shampooing hair try not to use harsh brushing, or blow drying. Let hair dry naturally while using a leave-in conditioner and gently use fingers through hair without pulling. Pulling wet hair will cause breakage and split ends.

She needs a good haircut to get rid of the splits, nothing else will repair them. Then, you need to wash her hair with a good shampoo and follow-up with a good conditioner. I have shoulder length curly hair and I get a haircut every 4 weeks and use a very good shampoo and conditioner for curly and wavy hair that I get from my stylist. My hair never looks frizzy and the ends, if they do get split, are cut off frequently, leaving a nice smooth edge.

The only way to avoid split ends altogether is to use preventive conditioning and to avoid all chemical treatments. Split ends, if they do develop, can never be repaired 'like new'. Best to trim the ends off and pamper the hair to avoid split ends from re-developing.

The only way to get rid of split ends is to cut them off and then prevent them in the future. Conditioning will help prevent split ends and so will using mild shampoos.

Split ends CANNOT be "fixed". They need to be cut off. A trim every six weeks will prevent them in the first place.

Cut them off. Once there is a split in the hair shaft the only true way to remedy it is to cut them.
