I LOVE to watch a fake martial artists come in and try to spar. It's funny as hell when first blow land and they realize that the person they're sparring with literally is gonna to try knock them out instead of let them play their favorite hero from movies. Also it's funny to see their face when they realize that reciving a blow isn't what movies make out to be. It's VERY common to see someone quickly get out of the ring after reciving one or two kicks.

Also I take great pleasure in bust all their mythical surrounding. It's funny when they quickly learn that their "spirit", chi, etc... doesn't make them invincible to strikes or when they realize they doesn't have a cat like reflex after eating a huge combos of strikes.

I'm wondering what do you like to see happening in spar?

Oh and I forgot to add in, it's always amusing to hear people talk about how deadly they're without rule after they totally get chewed up in sparring.

When I was in the service during the Viet Nam era, I was in Thailand for some R & R and I got hooked on the Thai kickboxing fights. Years later some one once asked who would win in a fight with a Thai kickboxer, Mohammud Ali or the kickboxer? I told the guy who asked that question if he had ever seen a real, not movie kickboxing match he wouldn't ask that question. I have seen guys that are 5 feet tall beat the hell out of guys that were over 6 feet tall. I told this guy Mohammud Ali wouldn't even last one round from a professional Thai kickboxer who was only 5 feet tall. For years he never believed me until he and his wife went to Thailand for vacation. When he came back he apologized for doubting me, because he then realized what I was talking about. And most of the kickboxers in the rest of the world would lose their a**es to a Thai kickboxer after three rounds, because they don't stop the fight because of blood unless the other guy cannot even stand up.

nicely i spar AAU ingredient variety so no neck face lower back or under the belt hits, although i could somewhat prefer to do a sweep. My favorite concern to do is do exactly continual roundhouses (we've a staying power drill like this) then the guy starts off to easily block those and you gets a head shot in, despite the fact which you'll be able to desire to have quickly kicks for it to paintings and it does not continually paintings relies upon on who you're sparring.

I like it when someone is dumbfounded by a technique that I learned and was able to get off. Usually this happens when grappling when you generally have more time to analyze what the **** happened to you or why didn't your technique work without looking at video.

I think it really feels good to know that you can use a technique outside your immediate training circle and have it work so you know you aren't screwing up. I think that is really what sparring is for, not to learn, but to check if you are learning correctly.

That's the problem with alot of schools and some styles. They give a false sence of security and skills to their students. When all they teach them is to break bourds and do flips and use fake swords etc.... But never actually put them in an actual Sparing or Randori situation with an Uki/opponent.

i like to see people using the technics they've learnt in class.that is what sparring is about.if you think it's about hurting people i think you need to rethink your attitude to martial arts.(no offense intended)now fighting is a diiferent thing and when we talk about that i agree with what your saying.sparring has no bearing on your ability to fight or defend yourself in a real life situation.i.ve seen many people with black belts+ get their **** kicked and i know a few in jail because they won but every one of them shouldn't have gotten into the situation in the first place.harsh, but they got what they deserved.

I love to see a block that actually knocks an opponent off their feet.
