I think the world would be better if people didn't try to inflame others without provocation.

I doubt it. Because the teachings of Christ somehow come through once in a while. I mean He taught love and compassion. Most of the rest of the religion is just as crazy as any religion. The other religions would have had wars and it would not matter. I can say this there would be no Islam without Christianity. It is a spin-off from Christianity. Both came from Judaism.
The reaction here seems to be narrow minded. It assumes Christ to be God and that their Religion is absolute. It's just their belief. It is not fact or science. They keep trying to act like the verdict is still out on Darwinism. Get a life people it isn't that's the difference between science and religion. Science has to prove it Religion does not.It is only faith based. So to go to war and cause all the grief maybe the world would be a lot better off without religion. Not just Christianity all of the religions. Imagine? Just the brotherhood of man.

The true spirit of Christianity is charity or love, which is the only thing that has kept the good people on this planet going at all.
The world could not exist or function without loving charity.

The corrupt or damaging actions of false Christians are probably what you are questioning. Yes, the world would be better off without that hypocrisy and historical abuse of the Christian faith, or any other faith, for ill gain or selfish purposes. Any system or teaching can be used for good or for bad, and Christianity is just one of them.

If the choice was to take either the good with the bad, or to throw them both out, I would choose to take both. The good clearly overcomes the bad, and that process of redemption from past wrong or injury is the actual purpose of Christianity.

Christianity came because of Christ, and Christ taught His followers to love every1, love and pray for those who hate u. Alot of things we do in this world have originated from God's Word, Jesus's teachings.
So no, i think the world would not have been better without Christianity. Every good thing, since Christians follow what Christ taught, would practically be thrown out the window; because throwing away Christianity, is, basically, getting rid of Christ. And if u get rid of Jesus, then u get rid of his teachings. Without Christianity, without Christ, i believe the world would probably be in utter chaos. There would not be people living for Jesus, and showing His love. (Not saying there wouldn't be people showing love....but as Christians we are supposed to show it more so than non-Christians).

Do I think? No

Do others think....probably some yes, no or indifferent.

Chrisitanity left out of this world would have affected me greatly. I would still be a severe drug addict and would not have any ideas about my purpose in life. I am so greatful for Jesus, who is Christianity.

I admit alot of people do wrong in the name of "religion" they are not truly followers. No religion teaches evil except perhaps satanism, but I dont even know enough about it to say and I am not to judge, since I am a Christian.

Thanks for asking

David

The teachings of Christ were revolutionary in our world, He taught to love your enemy, care for the unwanted, and live in equality, not socia status anxiety. Also, the Catholic Church has built western society, everything from faming, clearing swamps,(last two by the monks), preserving language and ancient writing, developing almost every branch of science, architecture, and art, and standing up today for the unwanted.

Re you kidding me? The bible states that ye are the salt of the earth. If the spirit of Christ did not dwell here there would be total chaos. The day is coming when the restrainer will take away his Church and his spirit from this earth. Mankind will destroy themselves if it were not for his intervening again.

The fanatically minded would have found some other inspired thinker they could project their prejudices onto, and we'd be in just the same diabolical, faith-driven chaos we're in now. So no, Christianity (and certainly not Christ, poor misunderstood man) is to blame.
