ok so I was lookin in my little brothers backpack for his homework and i found a porno magazine! with pictures of naked women... I confronted him and he said he found it on the ground(it was damaged by rain a little bit. so I knew he was telling the truth) in my school parking lot. he also told me that he gave a few of the pages to his friend and was looking at it(secretly of course) in class. well i have no idea what to do. I dont have such a great relationship with him and when he trusted me, then we actually got along! now I would be fine with it if we just left it at that, but he keeps bringing it back up! he says things like "I want to look at that magazine now really bad" and I dont know what to do! I dont want to betray him and lose his trust but i really dont want to know all about his 7 y/o sexual desires. WHAT SHOULD I DO???

telling my or his parents is not an option.
you have to realize that my parents are not like you or your parents probably are. his parents are way too irrational and wouldnt be able to handle the situation properly. im looking for situations where I can play the role of the good parent, so we dont have to risk it. thanks for all of your help and insight.

Ask your brother why he needs to look at it. It's very possible he is curious about bodies at this age it doesn't sound like your parents have discussions with him on body parts and private issues. If you want to help without telling get rid of the magazine tell him that's not for him, answer any questions he has about what he saw in a age appropriate way. If he is attracted to the females in the book buy him a swimsuit catalog.

I would sit down with your brother and tell him that you had to throw the magazine away and that it isn't meant for kids his age and when he gets old enough he can buy one when he's 18.Let him know your very proud of him for telling the truth and any questions he has he can always come to you or his parents.Make sure you get rid of the magazine because he may search for it when your not around. You could also buy him a magazine more suitable for him. A 7 year old boy shouldn't have any sexual desires yet. Have a sit down with your mother or father which ever your comfortable talking to and let them know what happened but ask them to keep it confidential that you handled taking the magazine and tossing it and you told your brother that those magazines aren't for kids.Tell mom and dad that you also told your brother that if he had any question that he can come to you or them.Make sure little brother isn't around when you have talk with parents.Good Luck :)

What a great sister you are! I can understand about wanting to take care of it yourself. My advice to you is to sit him down and tell him that he is not old enough to have this magazine. Explain to him that when he is older, and it would be fine, but now, it is not appropriate. Tell him that you are going to take the magazine and deal with it. Telling him you are going to throw it away is only going to upset him. Let him know that you can either do it this way, or your parents will need to be told about it.
The reason that he wants to look at it isnt for proverse things, it is to satisfy his questions. They are interested in seeing something that he hasnt seen before. All 7 year olds are starting to learn about the female body and they have questions!
Way to be a great sister!

He's SEVEN. Tell your parents that he had it and he repeatedly asks to see it. It's not betraying his trust. It's looking out for his best interests. My brother is 8, so I understand. But you have to do what is best for him at this age. He is WAY too young to be looking at that kind of thing or know what sex is. For anyone that thinks it is perfectly okay for a seven year old to be looking at PORN, take yourself to the shrink. There's something wrong with you too. NO, there is nothing wrong with sex, but there is an age at which it is HIGHLY inappropriate. If your brother were 13 or older, sure....give him the porn, let him look at it. But he's way too young, and it isn't something you should have to deal with. Turn it over to your parents.

Tell him he is too young for this mag. and that you don't want to betray him. If he gives the mag. to you tell him you wont tell your parents if he will not give it to you to destroy tell him you will talk to your parents. He is too young for this and if he keeps it your parents need to have a talk to him as this is a lot of information for such a young person to have unexplained and you are not the one to decide what and how to explain the facts.

maybe this is something you should talk to your parents about. i wouldn't want one of my children to try to take care of this situation and me not know anything about it. 7 years old is WAY TOO YOUNG to be looking at porn. just because he found it on the ground, does not mean that he can keep it. i would dispose of the magazine or show it to your parents and talk to them about this.

He is probably picking up on the vibe that you are uncomfortable with it and just giving you a hard time. If he brings it up change the conversation immediately. Give him no wiggle room to bring this up. It will go away as quickly as it started.

Do not do anything, it is just porn. It is not like there were bombs in his backpack. He is a guy, better be happy that it wasn't homo porn. Let the boy live and Americans need to stop acting like sex doesn't exist.

Tell you're parents. Even though you'd feel like you were betraying him, you could still be friends. You could always make it up to him.

Bring him to Borders and buy him a book on male and female reproductive systems. This is all he should need.
