I want to paint my kitchen tiles but cannot find paint described as "tile paint" in the right colour ( a red that is not terracota). What exactly is the type of paint used on tiles (i.e. steam-proof, water-proof etc) so I can find other ways of looking. Thanks v much (UK based).

I'm afraid tile paint is not available in that wide assortment of colors. Perhaps you could find some decorative tiles that have the colors in them that you want. You could remove some of your present tiles, and insert the new colorful tiles. Perhaps a stripe going around the back splash would look attractive. You could also find a ceramic artist and have him/her design a style for you, using your chosen colors.

You use a tile primer then a specialist tile paint which is like gloss
However I wouldn't bother cos as soon as you start cleaning the tiles the paint comes off.

Instead of asking for paint for tiles you should be asking for glue for tiles. Tiles are meant to be glued using glue. As for painting tiles they are already painted, and if they're not take them back and demand they be painted. How much did you pay for them anyway?

it is an oil based paint resistant to water etc. you can use ordinary gloss but it wont last as long so the real thing is worth the extra
