I am struck by an answer one person gave me.

We take Jesus in our heart. So true!!

Does that mean that each one of us, has the capability and obligation to strive to answer and be the very thing that we describe Jesus as??

I love when someone on here makes me think!

Absolutely!! That is what "Christian" means, "Christ like", that is what we are supposed to strive for, to be and act like Him. Yes, we are obligated, teach by example, have faith the right person will learn from your example.

Jesus was the perfect man. That's why he offered to mankind the need to be 'born again' (John 3) so that we could be more like Him... with a fresh start, like a new born baby....but spiritually. We can become a 'new creation' in Christ Jesus. He takes the old dead failures that we are and remakes us unto His image. There is no one else who has offered mankind a new start, a way to erase the past and start all over again. His forgiveness opens the door for him to come and indwell every believer. Then he teaches us by the Holy Spirit to live the way that pleases God. We may sin now and again, but we have Jesus, our advocate, the One who goes to the Father on our behalf, whenever we do sin. All we have to do is ask for forgiveness... and detrmine to not do that again... His plan for mankind is perfect. Sad so many don't really understand it. It 's not so difficult. It's really simple enough for a child to comprehend.

If you have been born again, born of the Spirit through faith in Christ, you receive the Spirit of Christ - the perfect seed of God. The Christian walk is a progression of turning away from - denying, or saying "No" to the old corrupt nature of Adam, and saying "Yes" to the new nature - the nature of Christ. To distinguish between the 2 natures we must humbly submit to the authority of the Scriptures (I Peter 2:2; James 1:21; and Hebrews 4:12) Also, as we behold Him in worship, we become tranformed into His likeness (II COrinthians 3:18); and finally, when we see Him face to face, the transition will be complete (I John 3:1-3 ) Hallelujah !!
