Well, first of all... if your going to tell others to change a law..... you should first be able to spell and type yourself...
but actually, as long as the seniors can still pass the vision test at the DMV they can still drive.

I don't agree. You are probably more of a danger than most old people on the road! You have little appreciation of the danger on the roads since you have so little experience of driving. You should learn yourself before you are so quick to try to judge others - there probably are people who should no longer drive but that's no business of yours even if they have the audacity to want to use the public highway. You'll just have to slow down and drive at a reasonable speed.

It completely depends on the individual. My grandpa is definitely one that should not have his license but if my grandma had not had her license taken away due to a stroke 2 years ago, she would have no problem driving. Her sister was a good driver too until they had to take hers away due to Alzheimers. Where I live, once you pass 80 you automatically have to go for a refresher course every 2 years and if you get in an accident any time after the age of 75, you automatically lose your license.

I think kids under 20 who think the road is all for them should not be allowed to drive. They are always in such a rush...drive fast and cause accidents and kill people. They are too busy talking on their cell phones or putting on lipstick to watch the road Driving is a privledge not a race and open to those of age who can obey the rules. You wish to dictate edicts out here on Yahoo Land and haven't even got a permit yet....so, I don't share your opinion.

Wait til you are 65 years old, then ask this question again. I think if older people cause a problem and wreck alot, then something should be done if they are aleast 80 years old or so.......but then, you know teenagers can't drive either if not taught right. I have more problems with young drivers than older ones. They tend to drive toooooo fast, and cause wrecks, or kill themselfs because they have no experience.

Honey, it isn't driving slow that kills people. How do you think we survived to get old, lol? You apparently don't know that the vast majority of highway deaths are of people under 30. The major cause, by far, is speeding, coupled with inexperience behind the wheel. If you want to live to see 17, you'll need to grow up emotionally.

The fair thing to do would be to require medical exams and road tests for drivers over 65. That way, those who are unfit to drive can be taken off of the road while those who still can safely drive can retain their driving priveleges.

50 percent of all accidents are caused by new drivers. Why do you think Insurance is higher for younger people? In 20 years on the road I have had two accidents, both were not my fault. I have never had a ticket. My insurance is really cheap. BTW, in the city the speed limit is 25 mpg on most streets. have a safe day, wear your seat belt. you will need it.

I wouldn't say over 65...
...but, yes, I think over 75 should. I know plenty of 65 - 75 year olds that can drive just fine. My grandparents are just fine at driving, as is my husbands 65 year old grandmother who lives by herself and drives herself to work every day. If she couldn't drive, she wouldn't be able to afford the house she lives in.

i don't know about that when I walk my kids to school everyday its the teenagers that almost run us over. If I hadn't thrown a sandal at one's car I"d be dead. Teens are wild turn and not look, speed and don't slow down and think. There are screenings that should be done for teens very much as well as some elderly. Teens need to slow down and pay attention!
