I'm not sure if they will send me home once I get there because I know it's contagious-but I am on antibiotics. If you were my boss-would you tell me to stay home on Monday?

So long as you have been on antibiotics for a FULL 24 hours, you should no longer be contagious. However, your work may feel better if you stay home. I would contact your boss. Do you feel up to going to work? If you work in front of a computer or anything that you use your eyes heavily, you may want to consider staying home for a day.

Once you have gone to the doctor and been on antibiotics for 24hrs you are no longer contagious. So if you have taken the antiobiotics and it will be 24 hours by the time you go to work tomorrow and you feel up to then it is okie, if not take the day off. I had this last year, I work with kids and I went to the doc that morning and then the next day I was back at work.
I am seeing most are not reading the part you are on antibiotics only that it is contagious( contangious only if not on antibiotics) oy!

I wold encourage an employee to stay home with pink eye if I were the boss. It's highly contagious and no one wants to get it. Especially if you work around children or food, stay home!

If you tell them simply you have pink eye, no questions will be asked, I'm sure they would rather you stay home then "spread the joy" with others at work. Ask the nurse at your doctor's office when you are not contagious anymore.

I am a school nurse, and we have kids stay home until they are on antibiotics for 24 hours..after that you are no longer contagious, but you need to finish your medication..wash your hands lots too.

Its contagious. Just let your boss no you are taking a sick day off because you have pink eye.

Yes! its cruel to go to work with something like that, knowing its contagious, and possibly infect someone else.
