My puppy has roundworms and I gave her dewormer. About 30 to 45 minutes later, she threw up twice. I'm worried about whether the medicine had time to take affect. Should I give her another dose or will this make her sick?

Don't give her another dosage! I posted a worm related question earlier and several people talked about dog's overdosing and dieing!

I would not give her more for a week or so. Did you get the de wormer from a vet? If not, I would get the next round from one. They should de worm puppies with their vaccinations. The problem with de wormers you can buy at the store is that they are weaker so they are safe to sell to anyone. The ones from the vets are much more effective.

no you should not. if you dog threw up you may have given it to much. but if it threw up worms with it then still no. how do you know they are round worms? yes the medicine would have taken affect in that amount of time, it would have dissolved by then. But if your dog starts to shake or tremors or throws up more you may have over dosed you dog.

I think you should wait until her next dose is due. In the next day or so you should take her to the vet's office to ask what you shoukd do. I heard roundwoms are bad so you should take the dog to vet quick.

I would take her to the vet. She may be having an alergic reaction and may need a different medication.

Don't give her another dose. Talk to your vet about it. You should have her rechecked to see whether or not it worked.
