I lost my dog about two days ago and already put up flyers. Are there any other suggestions for what I should do to find my missing dog? Somebody told me to go door to door asking. Anymore?

BTW, I put flyers on every light pole in the neighborhood.

Call the vets in your area ; many have websites and you can email a picture they can post it on their notice boards; contact the local pounds and shelters in your town and the surrounding towns; what is the breed of your dog; they have dog rescues for specific breeds and they take postings and pictures - I hope you find him

Going door to door is a good idea cause some people may not see the flyers and its probably close by. Is there any woods around your house? If so, I would search there. Is it an expensive dog? If so someone may have stole it. You might put an ad in the paper and offer a small reward. Check with pound, humane shelter, local vets.

I found a older ladies dog by getting on the local radio.
Newspapers are a good source, also the local pound. If you are lucky the dog is at the pound getting food and water and off the dangerous streets. The pounds these days have web sites to check who has come in, hopefully a no kill pound like we have. You might want to call the city maintenance or who ever picks up dead animals in your area.

When you get your dog back go through a dog training class so this does not happen again.....

Good luck I do hope you find your dog, or a good person picked your dog up off the streets.....

Go to your local shelter and give them a picture and your information so if they get your dog they can contact you.Run an article in the local paper in the lost and found section. If you put flyers up you neighbors have seen them but going door to door may also help.I would definitely check local shelters and pounds.Good Luck I hope you find your doggie :)

First, call your local police station and alert them the dog is lost. You would be surprised at the number of people that all the police for this. Second, call the animal shelters and describe the dog. Do this quickly because they only hold animals so long before they are put up for adoption (they think they have been abandoned). Third, ask the local stores if you can put signs in their windows. Fourth, put ads in the paper.

Look in the newspaper, go door to door, you can also put clothes you had worn around the outside of your house because the dog can sometimes smell it, go to shelters, and look online their are some links below. Hope you find your dog!

was ur dogged tagged i hope so . u can call the dog pound and see if he's been caught because if he isn't tagged they will have no way to call u. u can go door to door but if someone stole him i doubt that it will help. dog stealing is a big business and that is why so many people put chips in there dogs. good luck.

contact all the local shelters and vets offices. Do this right away because if your dog is there and you don't claim it in a certain time period it is adopted out. Even if they don't have your dog, you can leave a picture and a phone number then if the dog is brought in, they will contact you.

Check shelters, post bulletins on myspace, and send messages on myspace also to people in your area. Offer a reward, at least a couple hundred dollars if you can. Ask to put posters in stores and your local vet's office and pet stores. Good luck!
