vitamins....take Zinc tablets!!!! go to the drugstore and get a bottle as soon as u can, very important!! twice a day, morning and night, plus 500mg of vitamin C! I promise u it'll clear up if u do so along with drinking 8 glasses of water a day.
for creams/treatments etc, try something with AHA (alpha hydroxy acid), theres neutrogena pore refining cleanser and pore refining essence, check out the drugstore and ask a sales person for something with AHA in it. I use something called Pond's lightening spot corrector. Works great for me. The AHA might sting and burn on the pimple when u put in on, and it will redden and peel for a couple of days before it dries out completely (careful if u have sensitive skin!), u should see improvement in a week, also since AHA is also a skin lightener, there will be no scarring and greatly improves old scars after about a month or 2. Use oil free sunscreen during the day. Check out Clinique's range for acne.
I went to a dermatologist but it didnt help and I used tea tree oil and antibiotics, didnt work for me., so I took my steps in healing my own skin and I love my face now, it only breaks out once in a while.
incase the topical treatments dont work, stick to the zinc tablets and vitamin C!

The first thing you need to do is get back on the antibiotics that the dermatologist probably prescribed. If they didn't prescribe antibiotics then call and see if they will prescribe them. Acne is caused by the staph bacteria so when you have a really stubborn case you need to use antibiotics to help kill the bacteria. Also you should wash your face with a MILD soap not a harsh one as a harsh soap does more damage than good. Also be sure to wash your hands well after you touch your face and do not pop the pimples as the staph bacteria is contagious and that is a good way to spread the bacteria to other parts of your face/body. Wash your face in the morning and evening with a mild soap. You may want to try an acne remedy that has tea tree oil in it. Also remember it can takes months for a product to start working well so don't give up to soon on any treatment you try. For now get the antibiotics started and keep taking them to help with the bacteria.

Okay, but you have to be willing to do something about it and be serious. What you do is buy or get your parents to buy an Aloe Vera plant from a nursery that has leaves that are at least three inches across at their base. Once you have the plant you are ready to beging to change all of your facial problems. Stop or cut back eating red meat and pork. Eat more vegetables-cooked and raw, eat more fruits, cut out totally junk food. Added benefit more energy and sharper mindpower. When you have started doing these things, before bed at night wash you face with a good real all-natural herbal soap. Rinse with warm water and pat your face dry (rubbing with a towel causes additional scarring). Cut a piece of leaf off the plant that is at least 1 and a half inches long. You may need more, but you can add more as needed. Carefully cut the hooked edges off the leaf and peel it back. The gel inside should be used to smear on your face and left on overnight. In the morning do the same thing with the washing, but leave off the aloe vera gel unless you feel the need to use it during the day. Do this every day for about one to two months and not only will your face clear up completely, but your vitality and the way you look at food will change for the better for your whole life. For more information, hospital across this country use aloe vera gel from the plants to put on burn scarring from burn patients because not only does it alleviate the pain caused by the burns but it shrinks the scars to nothing if you use it until the scarring totally disappers. Good fortune to you.

I have moderate to severe acne and now have 100% clear skin and it is due to taking doxycylcine and using retin-a. The doxycycline is a miracle worker! The strain of bacteria that causes acne in most people is called p.acnes. It is naturally occuring on everyone but those of us with acne have irregularly shaped pores, which entraps this bacteria and allows it to multiply out of control, plug up the pore and cause it to erupt and spread.
The only way to stop the overgrowth of the p.acnes bacteria is to take an antibiotic. The retin-a will help you with the scars and also help your skin to slough off the dead cells, helping to keep the irregular shaped pores clear of any clogs.

My sister was on Accutane...scary medicine, but if you do decide to go on it, please be careful of warnings and side effects. My sister says that tea tree oil works better than Accutane anyway. Buy Tea Tree Oil at a reputable vitamin and herbal store...the kind they sell at the drug store is not powerful enough.
And don't use Lava Handsoap! That stuff is for mechanics to get motor oil off their hands. Use a MILD soap that is specifically made for acne prone skin, like Neutragena.
Use hot gentle steam to disinfect your skin for 10 minutes.
Apply ice on pimples that are extremely puffy or hurt when pressure is applied to reduce swelling. Don't pop them!
Mederma is a product that clears away scarring, they sell it at the drug store.

Hi, I am a dermatologist by profession and within a careeer of 10 years I have seen lots of acnee problems. According to me Red and white pimpless are the worst and painful. Acneprone skin is very sensitive, even if you touch it once the redness will increase with itching. According to me there is no magical way to heal your pimmples over night as this is the puffed part of your skin due to the bacteria. In simple words try to improve your diet and have lots of water that helps in healingg process. Un-necessary oily food should be avoided to get a healthy spotless skin.

I think if its your last resort your derm can prescribe Accutane. It has side effects so really research before you decide if it is or isn't for you. Once you get that under control, a chemical peel can quickly aid in the scarring.
