Not necessarily. Depends on how many days a week you workout, and whether you use a split and what kind.
My advice- if you want to permanently reduce DOMS- is to work each muscle more than once every 7 days, ideally every 4 or 5. Why is this? Yes, a muscle is completely recovered when all the soreness is gone. HOWEVER, some muscle fibers hypertrophy and then regress before some of the other fibers are completely recovered. In other words, for optimal gains you can never wait until you are completely and utterly recovered except during periods when you are giving yourself a break from working out.
So my advice would be to do a lighter workout while you are sore , and make sure that you work each muscle more than once in a 7 day period and eventually you will not have the type of soreness that will hamper your workouts.

your muscles are sore because during the exercise there were some microtraumas of the muscle fibers (and not accumulation of lactic acid as it was thought before). That's actually good - it means that you've done a good job and your muscle is responding to it by building new fibers.
The pain will go away with a little exercise. It will be painfull at the start but the pain will vanish as you exercise (try something easy like running in 30-40% of your usual workout, nothing too hard).
To prevent this sort of pain in the future you should make good stretching before AND after the workout.
And the most important: If your pain does not go away with exercise, it means injury. You should stop the exercise and go to the doctor.

3 times a week is enough if your a beginner.
If you are really sore take a few days off, if you can't train to a high intensity then its not really worth training. Its better to wait a few days until you can give it your all again. Listen to your body and avoid over-training.
If you want to go to the gym everyday then you should be alternating exercise:
Monday: Running
Tuesday: Weights
Wednesday: Running
Thursday: Weights
Friday: Running

My ex worked out constantly. He would have torn muscles and in much pain. He went to a doctor and then a licensed physical therapist. They told him in order for your body to adequately rebuild the torn muscles to wait a day between a rigorous workout. They also suggested he is to alternate between different types of workouts to help his body to heal and get stronger. If you do muscle building on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday do cardio. It also depends on how you want to build your body. Good luck.

Your muscles grow for a period of 48 hours at most. Therefore if you go before that time, you are overworking your muscles and they will be broken down. So, don't go or else you're losing what you're working for.

You are pushing yourself too hard. Stop when you start to feel the burn. Don't overdue it. Start out small and always stretch first.
