Dogs loose teeth like children do. Thats why they chew on things- to get the teeth out.

Yes, dogs lose their baby teeth when they are getting older. Teething on chew toys is very healthy for their teeth and helps the teeth come out more easily instead of having the dog be in pain. As soon as they lose their teeth get some teething chew toys for your dog.

Your little girl should already have lost her puppy teeth by the time she was 5-6 months old. Chihuahuas (all toy breeds) often retain their baby teeth. Gently playing tug of war may help out. Check for extra teeth or have the vet take a look. He may have to help her out with her dental situation.

Although they prefer wet, mushy food, it is Much better to serve her dry food to help prevent tartar and gum disease. Get her used to good dental hygeine, too.

Also pay attention to the "flaring" of the canine teeth (the big pointy ones)... They should bend out, not in... it is possible for the Canine teeth to pierce the roof of the mouth.

Dogs do lose all their baby teeth, but if she's almost a year old, she should have her adult teeth by now. Are you that she's not more like 6 months or so?

dogs loose their puppy teeth between 4 to 6months of age and gain there adult teeth. it depends on whether or not the tooth that has came out was a puupy tooth or an adult. if its an adult tooth then have your vet check her. youll be able to tell the difference as adult teeth are so much bigger.
