I've already been through D.A.R.E. A long time ago, too. But I was reading a pack of cigarettes, and the question came to me.

Smoking is terrible for you health, but Drinking technically puts you
"under the influence" Too much of it is dangerous, especially since you might do things that you wouldn't typically do,including harm people you don't mean to. ex. car accidents

Not only that, excessive (too much) drinking can even kill you...especially for small or young people. It usually doesn't even take too much to kill someone under 21

i think the reason is that the government think smoking doesn't hurt others so it isn't a risk to them but a drunk person can do damage to property, give abuse and cause many other things that will cost the government money. i think its completely stupid!!!!!!!!!and in Ireland where im from you can smoke at 16 and drink at 18!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it's because when you drink you can get drunk and act stupid and make stupid decisions like drink and drive. Smoking really dosen't effect the decision parts of your body.
