How high of a temp would you let your kids get before letting them stay out of school? Right now she has 100 F, and we are still considering school tomorrow. She has a big test and is just coming back from a 4 day weekend.

Your child can make up a test. But if you send her to school when she's sick, she's not going to do as well on her test when she's concentrating on how awful she feels. Wait until the morning. If it's under 99, she can probably go. Otherwise, let you child stay home. The stress of knowing she has a big test isn't going to help her feel better.

This takes me back to when my older two were in preschool and since then even in public school they cannot stay with a fever. That is assuming that a fever indicates something contagious. A fever is a valid school excused illness absence, or at least where we are. Best wishes and hope she is better by tomorrow!

No all fevers like that are a sign you need to stay home and rest. With a temperature that high you would do well to see a doctor also, particularly if it gets worse.

Call the school nurse (if there is one) tomorrow and ask if the school has a policy on fever. Some schools have a set temperature where children must be sent home.

Defenatly no School!!!! Your suposto let them stay out for 24 hours after the fever... And above 98 is high....Let her take an extra day...its better to let her take it on a later date then feel terrible and take it on time( and probabaly do poorly because she cant study and not feel good) The teacher will let her make it up

have her take a half day, have her take the test in the morning, and then after she takes her test, have her go home early, if the test is after lunch, then call the school and see if she is up to taking the test without coming home, and if she is not up to it, then,m get her from school, and ask the teacher if she can redo the test another day

if it were me, I'd take her out of school, maybe to the doctors(just in case). she can study while she's out, and make up the test. maybe a friend can bring home the work they did that day.
