This is not a Christian only forum. There are many religions in the world and many types of spirituality.

I spent 30 years studying the bible and 25 as a lay minister preaching for preachers when they needed a break. I may not be Christian now, but I still have the knowledge of the bible, that has not left me.

I am now Wiccan, which is a religion and thus covered by the religion category and is a form of spirituality which is also covered by the spirituality category.

I am here because I like to share my opinions and experiences and see what other people experience and their opinions.

Because there are more religions than Christianity and other definitions of God other than the Abrahamic one. As for atheists - having no god is just as much a belief as believing in God. And maybe some of them are really trying to understand the concept of God. You have to realize that we all think differently and sometimes it's really hard to see the opposite point of view. Besides, if everyone here was Christian, it would become nothing more than an online bible study. You can get that at other places on the web.

"Religion and Spirituality"

Nowhere does it say, "Only if you have religion." Even then, if only Christians answered Christian-oriented (I'm just using Christians as an example, since that's the one used in the question) questions...or even vague questions such as, "Which Church or denomination do you think is best/should I go to/teaches about _____?"

Then that makes the answer biased towards one religion. It is perfectly acceptable for someone to answer a question and have others answer with their opinions. Just because someone is, for instance, a Pagan doesn't mean they did not ever once study Christian religion...

And just because someone claims to be religious, does not mean they are also "spiritual"...and just because someone thinks they are spiritual, does not mean they worship only one religion.

Not to mention that religion, in and of itself, cannot really be measured. There are very many different degrees of "being religious".

For a few instances:

Christian 1: Goes to Church because she always has her whole life, believes the Bible, has prayed for Salvation, and teaches her children her beliefs.

Christian 2: Goes to Church only because she feels guilty if she does not go, but doesn't pay attention. She does, however, believe in God and Jesus and has prayed for Salvation.

Christian 3: Does not go to Church, but thanks God everyday and reads her Bible nightly, and prays, but spends her time on the weekends working, or persuing a hobby.

Christian 4: Believes in Heaven in Hell, does not go to Church, thinks Jesus existed but is not sure if Jesus was really God's son.

Christian 5: Believes she will go to Hell if she does not accept Jesus in her heart, thinks the teachings of the Bible are good moral stories, but have no historical truth to them, and thinks God is more likely female than male, and does not go to Church.

Now, all five of these people call themselves Christians, REGARDLESS of what OTHER people who call themselves Christians (or any other religion) might think they really are.

So all in all, everyone has the same right and privilege to answer any questions posed to the general public forums. It is a risk for ANYONE to post ANY question here, and for some questions it might be BETTER to post them on religious-specific forums, but even there someone can get in and say some things NO one wants to hear.

Also, perhaps there is the off chance some of them come and answer to start discussions, so that the Christian community could speak for itself and perhaps convince them to convert. Look at it this way, if they are asking questions, or talking, then they will read what you have to say.

Whether they agree or not, they will see things being said and goodness knows, something might spark a change. Being agnostic myself, but considering myself spiritual, I like to understand people's reasonings for their religion to see if there are any that I might one day like to proudly become a part of.

Well I'm not an Atheist, and I answer questions. My spirituality has nothing to do with your Religion. Why do you think that this is only a religion category? It also is for spirituality, and you don't have top believe what I do anymore than I have to believe what you do. Maybe the whole point of this is that there are many views held and we all (YES ALL...including Atheists) have the right to share what we think, and believe.

Why can't non-Christians participate? There are many of very religious people who are not Christian, and they should be allowed to do the same things as Christians. This is freedom. Furthermore, people who are not religious can use questioning and answering to learn about aspects of society that interest and affect them.

You grammar is pretty poor so I don't quite know what your questioning exactly. Pay attention in English class so you can become more articulate.

One does not need to believe in a Diety in order to study theology. I find it quite interesting. A non-christian has every right and knowledge to answer any question dealing with religion. Just because one doesn't believe doesn't mean they do not know about the bible. In fact I think it provides unique insight into religion.

Correcting Christians like you in their impression that the only religion is Christianity would be a public service, for a start. Don't bother to thank me.

Hey Noobie,
As this question is asked and answered at least 300 times a day why don't you do us and yourself a favour by researching previous similar questions.
Most of the world does believe in "religion", but they all believe in different and completely contradictory ones, so that proves nothing. Besides, just because a majority of people believe something stupid, doesn't make it the truth. A majority of people used to believe in witches, and keeping slaves.

I think what you meant to say is "non-religious people", not non-Christians. "Religion & Spirituality" encompasses more than just the Christian perspective.

By and large I think it is just a way for non-religious people to annoy believers. They seem to enjoy doing that for some reason. Generally speaking, I have found atheists to be the biggest proselytizers among all the "religions" these days. I think they seek validation for their non-belief. In any event, Jesus says we are supposed to forgive them for it, although it is hard to do sometimes.

In my religion, we claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dicatates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

We live in a land of freedom, and all people have the freedom of speech, Christians/non-Christians, Blacks/Whites/Mexicans/Asian, etc and men/women. All people have the right to express their opinions, that is what is so great about the United States of America.
