In the majority of the 129 citations in the KJV, it refers to rising up, as in awakening or rising from sitting, or rising smoke or water.

There is only one reference in the KJV to "the rose", as for a flower. This is found in Song of Solomon, 2d chapter, 1st verse."1I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys." I cannot read Aramaic, and the meaning or symbology of the rose of Sharon is not universally agreed upon by different theological scholars.

Rosicrucianism and some of the varied different bodies of Freemasonry around the world that refer to unifying the Rose and the Cross have elements that are not based on Christian scripture. Many organizations have teachings that are not directly scriptural. Those uniting the Rose and the Cross are allegorical teachings, frequently not(if ever!) well understood by the instructor or the student. Short answer, the ideal of unifying Divine Love and Divine Logic in Life It is a nice theory, but efforts at application are limited by many things, and some would say it is unnecessary for humanity to attempt to do so, as it has been done for us.

At least one path of interpretation could lead to heresy. See the Revelation of John. The relevant verse is 22:19.

I don't fully understand the end of your question. The Gospel of John strongly implies that Jesus was and is The Word of God, LOGOS, meaning divine reason in it's fullest terms, and became incarnate, and was recognized by John the Baptist. See the first chapter of the Gospel of St John.

A quick scan of the Vatican's concordance of the New American Bible, shows that the word rose is only used as the past tense of rise and not as the flower: http://www.vatican.va/archive/ENG0839/TZ.HTM

With love in Christ.
