Find an activity that keeps your hands busy, like knitting.

Get a pair of thin cotton gloves (pharmacy section @ WalMart), smear hand lotion all over your hands (including nails & cuticles), put gloves on while not knitting (if you cave in and take the gloves off, the minute you put a finger near your mouth, that nasty-tasting hand cream will remind you why you have the gloves on!). The good thing about this method is - you get really soft & smooth hands as a side benefit.

As a last resort - put band-aids on each fingertip. Make sure they are "good" ones that are really sticky. After a week or so of people asking you what the heck happened to your fingers, you should be over the urge to nibble. Immediately treat yourself to a manicure, at a nail salon.

Don't have fake (acrylic) nails put on. The glue that is used to bond the tips to your nail beds will absolutely RUIN the health of your real nails.

you recognize what you should do? give up attending to renowned, flow out and are available across a chemist (or drug save...I dunno what they could call it on your us of a), and are available across a nail polish there extremely for nail biting. once you position it on, that is sparkling and un-noticable. yet once you flow to chew your nails...BAM! The flavor is undesirable. It tastes like residing house paint mixed with banana. VERY DISGUSTING. you may purely flavor it although, not scent it, so do not difficulty about the scent making you sick. That facilitates a lot with nail biting. Use it until eventually you give up completly, trust me, it extremely works. that is non poisonous, by how.

You may consider biting your boyfriend's nails. It worked for me when I bit my girlfriend's nails, at her suggestion no less! Well, it cut it down a lot, especially when watching TV, driving and reading. Her nails look like mine now, short and ragged, but, whatever it takes. She didn't mind at all.

i recently stopped bitting mine a good way is to get fake nails which allows your real nails to grow long underneath so when they come off you wont want to bite your own

I find when I clip my nails I tend not to bit them. This for me also allowed my nails to start to grow "normally". I hope this works for you.

I think you should try getting your nails done. Maybe when you see how beautiful they look, you won't be able to bite them...plus I don't think you'd want to waste your money by ruining them.
