Hello,
I recently bred my female pug, The puppies were fine but today both are panting and crying a lot. Their bellys are hard too. Im not sure what to do for them, I think maybe they have gas or are constipated. Any ideas ?

Why not call the breeder who is helping you and mentoring you with the breeding? You *do* have one right? Asking strangers on Yahoo! answers would not be an option for an ethical breeder. . .
Edit: Hmmm, a little defensive, aren't we? A ethical breeder takes in criticism and uses it to make themself a better breeder. Put another check in the BYB column. And, go ahead and call pug rescue and let them know that more dogs will be coming their way because of your greed.
Tiger: I don't *hate* anyone. But, I am sick of people who think that simply owning a dog gives them the right to breed it. And, I'm sick of being the one who cleans up their messes - via rescue groups and humane societies. A better question, better than questioning *my* personal beliefs, would be to question why *these* people refuse to abide by AKC guidelines and the guidelines of their own breed club? Why is that when I post ethical breeder guidelines, I get numerous thumbs downs from people who refuse to learn? Why do these people enjoy contributing to the killing of dogs in shelters?

Take the mom and puppies to the vet. You aren't going to get any help on yahoo answers.
Make an appointment for your female to get fixed as soon as the puppies are weaned. You shouldn't breed unless you are a professional breeder. There are enough unwanted, poorly bred dogs in shelters.

i hope u have heard from the vet by now.
i was reading everyones answers and they can b rude, but something occured to me, i know u r not try ing to feed them dry puppy food at 3 weeks but maybe mom isn't producing the milk.
when u see a starving child on tv, they're stomach is always bloated, have u checked to see if mom has any milk, if not then u have to bottle feed them until than can eat wet food.

hello I have raised 3large batches of pups never pugs and I praise you for calling a vet. but here is a sure way to get a pup to do its duty, it sounds a little gross but it works take a warm baby wipe or a very soft cloth and rub there butts, but also try rubbing their bellies. or you could give them about a ouarter to a half af teaspoon of vegetable oil it works like a laxative and no it wont hurt them, and your vet will probley have you try this also. good luck.

One of my aunts bred dogs and after the first few litters the puppies we not healthy, she bred pugs and the pugs body did not get back the nutrient it had spent during the pregnancy so the pups were unhealthy, it was so sad. It depends on if this is her first litter, often in first litters the puppies will die anyways. Hope this helps any!

They could have worms. Pups are born with worms. We start worming our pups at 3 weeks. Hope the little ones will be okay.
