Yes, become friends first. It is always good to get to know what someone likes and is about before you jump to being in a relationship with them.

I would say absolutely nt because once your friends and you like him its a lot harder to ask them out because your afraid of ruining the friendship and then you just wait and wait for the perfect moment and by that time he is with someone else

If you want to keep seeing him, yes. I've dated just for the fun of it, before. Never looking towards the future. But those I genuinely like, I get to know first. I want to know if he likes me as much as I like him!
