Christians should believe, as do most Jews, that this was the house of many idols of pagan worship. Abraham went in and destroyed all the idols and declared there was but one G-d.
However, Abraham lived in this area, into Mesopotamia, so we are not exactly sure where he lived. It does make a nice concept toward the the faith of Abraham that produced three major religions.

Yes, the Bible confirms it.
Abraham built the house in the valley of Bacca (modern day Mecca) dedicated to the worship of the One True God.

Abraham was never in Mecca...
Abraham would have nothing to do with building a "god house" for idols...
Isaac, not Ishmael, was the child of promise.
