I really appreciate all your answers, but I am still not seeing how Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning..." says that God has always been around. It just says that in the beginning, he created everything. That doesn't seem to say that God was always around.

Is it translated from a Hebrew word whose translation suggests otherwise?

Genesis 21:33--"And Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beer-sheba, and called there on the name of Jehovah, the Everlasting God."
1 Chronicles 16:36--"Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, From everlasting even to everlasting. And all the people said, Amen, and praised Jehovah."
Psalm 90:2--"Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God."
Isaiah 57:15--"For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy: I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite."

Jehovah God has always existed. His Son Jesus was the first of his creations.(Proverbs 8:22-31, Colossians 1:15, Revelation 3:14 )

John 1:1-3:

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

Genesis 1:1. God created the heavens and earth.

Meaning he existed outside of space and time.

Science does not say that. technology says that the universe has a starting and a finish. God isn't aside of the Universe. for the reason that if he exists ( which I think he does), he created the universe. so, I could say that this clinical reality aspects to God.

It is His Name. I AM that I AM. Meaning God Is (past, present & future). Jesus said He is the Alpha & Omega, the first & the last.

Yahweh (LORD) means eternal breath/ wind. Elohim (plural of ALH) means God; Father, Word & Holy Spirit. In the beginning God/ Elohim created the heavens and the earth...

Try " In the BEGINNING God created the heavens and the earth" It indicates that HE was there before the beginning.
