The abs light is on .The pads are ok .The brakes work good .What could it be?

If it's a sensor ,do I need to fix it?

Its best to have the system scanned to find out code you have stored. I could guess and say its a wheel speed sensor ,but then again which one.If it turns out to be the control module ,its expensive ,and you can still have brakes, just they won`t be antilock.

Its in your abs system, your standard brakes will work ,but you could lock up the brakes and skid, wreck
