it could if you both really want it to. then i guess any relationship can work but you would have to be sure that you are ok with people beng wierd about it (which probably a lot of people will be) and it would be very hard to be sure that the guy isnt some kind of pervert because most 34 year old guys wouldn't want to start a relationship with an 18 year old. In the end its really just down to the people in the relationship.

Yes. Depending on the personalities involved. If both have a good sense of humour then you have a surefire chance.
Lets face it-if you really love each other and would do anything for each other, then age is only a number after all. Let me put it another way. When do you notice your age differences? In bed? With other people? Or simply when someone talks about it? Are either of you ever awkward with other people about your age differences? Or are you proud of it? Or indifferent?
True love, a real sense of humor and great connection to each other is all you really need. Apart from any practical considerations perhaps :-). Enjoy it and good luck.

ya know, if you are the 18 year old, you may be thinking something like, wow, I'm awesome and hot because this 34 year old likes me!.... but, uh, really, what kind of *quality* 34 year old guy wants to, or needs to be with an 18 year old?.....?
I guess it could work in the sex department, but not for a meaningful relationship....

Pervert? Sheesh I'm tellin ya. It depends on the situation. Find the movie "Surviving Picasso" about Picasso the painter. Mind you I would've kept Franciosse (I don't know if i spelled that right). Talk about a womanizer though, and I don't condone his mental abuse. Through it all the most interesting comment is from Fran herself at the end. And besides, Anthony Hopkins is such a good actor.

Just about anything re: relationships CAN work...but an age gap that big, with her being barely an adult, and him approaching middle age, doesn't hold a ton of promise...
He's nearly old enough to be her father...what's the appeal? Does she like him for who he is or because he represents maturity/security/a parental figure? Does he like her for who she is, or because she's young and pretty and he likes having a 'sweet young thing' to date and show off to his friends?
What do they have in common? Their life experiences are going to be different...she's thinking where to go to college or what career she might like...he should be well settled into his career and college is likely long over...how similar are their goals?
There's much to consider...or they can just have fun for as long as it lasts...and move on...they are both legal adults and perhaps the experience is what one or both of them needs at the present stage of their life...

it can, it all depends on the mtive of the two getting together. maily on his end. the girl could be a gold digger and want that from him. the man could just be going trhough his midlife crisis and want to feel young again.
but it can work it the 2 ppl really like each other for the right reasons

of course it can work regardless what the nay sayers say. love knows no boundiers and it is what is happening between the two of you that matters not what others say. I was one of those who was plucked from the cradle the age diff is almost the same as you and him and had a long relationship and never regreted it. good luck
