You usually don't get one bow per pew because some churches have more than others...get an even number, 6 or 8, and then put them on every other or every other third pew, etc. Chances are your guests won't use up all the pews anyways, so it shouldn't be a problem if not all the pews have bows. It would probably be a good idea to talk to someone at the church an dfind out if they even allow pew bows on their furniture. Some churches are very strict when it comes to decor and won't allow you have even a simple bow...so check before spending extra money.

If you are planning to use the pew bows to indicate where you want certain people to sit (ie. close family), than you probably need no more than 10. However, it is dependant on the size of the church. My family's church is approximately 50 rows with a centre aisle. The average pew will hold 6-8 people depending on their size so if you have say 15 people on each side (brides side and grooms side) than you will need 2 or 3 pew bows for each side so that would mean less than 10 bows are required.

Basically it all depends on the size of the church and how many people you want to have sitting in a designated area. Take a look at your venue and take a look at your guest list and then go from there.

I am using pew bows as part of the decoration for my wedding. I actually sent someone into the church to cvount the pews in the sections that we were going to be using, but i think that 20 should be a nice number. If it turns out to be less, you can use them to decorate the church doors or on the walls next to the pews.

I think if you can goe every other pew make sure the first pew has them and go back about 12 pews., or just enough for the family seating areas. You could always purchase some large white flowers after the family section or 10-12 rows.

Are you marking every pew? Alot of times the family pews are just marked. If you are marking all the pews, then you need to differenciate the families' somehow.

As far as number, they vary. Since you're buying bows & not making them, to save money, I'd call the church and find out.
