Buy a live tree - not a cut one - they have a large root ball which you can keep watered.... and later either donate the tree or plant it in your yard.... If you do this plan now and get the hole dug.... they are more expensive than a cut tree, but you can enjoy it for years to come..

good luck!!

Any real tree will last the month (I put mine up on Dec 1 and take it down on Jan 1), if you make sure you do 2 important things. One, when you get it home...........make sure you cut off some of the trunk (kind of like when you get flowers, you trim the stem) and second, make sure you have plenty of water in the bucket or whatever the tree is standing in. It can not run out of water or it will dry up and become a fire hazard.

most real xmas trees they sell have been cut as far back as october. to get a tree that won't lose a lot of needles, find a tree farm and go cut the one u want. cutting it this late u might not have to put it in a water stand.
