Forgiveness is a very hard thing to do. I have come from a line of experiences both good and bad where people treated my whole family and myself really bad. They had no thought of who they were hurting and sometimes didn't even realize the damage they were causing. My family is still trying to forgive and forget what others have done to us. It isn't easy, but we are called to do it by God. Sometimes it is easier to hate them for it, rather than to let the whole situation and them, go. I am speaking from experience here and not talking just to talk. I eventually have forgiven most of those who have harmed me personally, but it wasn't done right away. Sometimes you need the time to heal and to sort through what has happened to you. You'll know when you are ready to forgive, but I feel it needs to be done so you can move on.

The only way to have true freedom in Christ is to forgive those who hurt you and wronged you The Lord prayer is a beautiful illustration on this in Matthew 6 and also Ephesians 4:32 says to be kind and tender hearted as Christ forgives you.

There is no doubt that we all been hurt, By I learned that hurt people hurt people and healthy people heal people with kindness and forgiveness. I am sorry if you were wronged and hurt don't harden your heart like I have done.

Realize to need God and realize he is all there is means you are poor in spirit and ask God to help you heal form those who wrong.

Revenge is sweet forgiveness is even sweeter and I thank you for posting Be encouraged.

Since I can only be responsible for my own emotions, yes, I eventually forgive those who have hurt me once I've been able to work through and release my own pain. It can sometimes take a lot to work through pain toward forgiveness. I've also learned it's sometimes harder to forgive yourself than it is to forgive others.

I have a problem forgiving people who keep doing things to me and never seem to be sorry or care how I feel. I can easily forgive someone who is genuinely sorry.

Jesus says to forgive, so I try to apply that to my life and to forgive people that have hurt me, it's not easy, but life is too short to dwell on bad things, you just end up suffering for it.

Forgive, it makes you the better person.

Why would someone hate me? I have never done anything (knowingly) for anyone to hate me? But, for those that do me wrong, yes, I can forgive.

Yes!! And I believe that this is the "crux" of our religion, and many Christians don't realize it. Forgive us our Debts, AS WE FORGIVE those who trespass against us. FORGIVE & YOU WILL BE FORGIVEN, IF YOU WILL NOT FORGIVE.... THE FATHER WILL NOT FORGIVE YOU!
JUDGE NOT... THAT YOU NOT BE JUDGED! (WITH THE SAME MEASURE AND MANNER YOU JUDGE & FORGIVE...YOU WILL BE JUDGED & FORGIVEN!!)
I think there are many proffessing Christians who think that they are going to Heaven, to whom God will say "Depart from me, you worker of iniquity, I never knew you!"
(Much to thier suprise!!)...BECAUSE of thier Judgemental Non-Forgiving Spirit.
Lord Help ME not to be judgemental or non-forgiving to them either Lord, but to simply speak the Truth in Love!!!
