While Alexander Graham Bell is usually credited as the inventor of the telephone, it is actually the work of many people in various fields. AGB was the first to patent such a device for the transmission of vocal communications. Have a look at the wikipedia page below.

Alexander gram bell was the first to patent the telephone but did you know that there was a guy before him that invented it first and just didn't patent it
