There is this really beautiful girl that rides with me on the bus. She is always saying Hi and asking me how I'm doing. The thing is she says it to a few other guys too (the hi stuff but not trying to sparka convo.) And when ever she tries sparking a conversation, due to my shyness, was only able to answer one sentence answers. Now she doesn't ask to many question, but she is till constant with the hi's and smiles. Does she like me and now doesn't or was she being nice? Are there any other possible explainations?
Plus what are some good conversation starters?

She probually does like you but thinks you don't like her. Next time on the bus why don't you try talking to her first and talk about things you like then maybe she will get the hint you do like her you're just a little shy!

We're not mind readers...we don't know if she likes you or not...you know that better than we...it was you she spoke to, and you who saw her facial expression and body language.
Your mistake for not answering her questions more fully, and asking some in return. Being shy is tough, I am also, but I also know if I really want to get to know someone I've got to muster up some courage and go for it. Short answers tend to cause people to lose interest quickly.
Conversation starters...I'm not sure if you are riding a school bus or a bus to work...so either ask her about school or her job (as applicable)...ask about any things you think you two may have in common...how her day is going...perhaps about something that's going on in your local area...

i think she only likes you as a friend. but i think you should start to talk to her like any other person would and get to know her and she should get to know you. at this stage, most likely she's being nice to you.
Conversation starters? o_O not really sure... but um. i guess compliment her? XD Or talk about school? Ehhh. Really, just come up with anything that might be fun to talk about. OOH! Tell her a joke. that always makes me laugh and girls sure do love guys who are funny. ^^;

yeah it's possible she likes you,but you also need to show it in return that is if your interested to.being a little to shy could become a burden specialy if you loose out and someone else may step in and wisp her away ,which you don't want to happen.
start off by introducing yourself by shaking her hand,you've seen her enough times on the bus so it should be alot easier for you to do that,start off by asking what classes she takes at school and tell her what classes you take and go from there.

Next time talk to her, get into a conversation with her, find out if she is seeing anyone. And if she is single, then in later ask her if she is doing anything and if she would like to go to dinner or something.

No one is able to read someone's mind. Nor does it matter what her intentions are. Continue to be pleasant and friendly yourself, and you'll continue to be pleasantly surprised!
Usually questions are good conversation starters. Since the other person needs to respond.

not very sure, but you never know. Ask her what ever you want to know about her. not too personal though. you can also talk a little bit of yourself. If she looks not interested than you should stop though. Um talk about school? find something you both can talk a lot about.

She's probably just being nice; try asking her how she's doing today. If she starts a longer conversation, she's interested. If she just says, "fine, thank you", then she's just being nice to you!

Get her to sit next to you and ask if she has a bf. If not ask her if she'd like to get together some time. Talk about what you like and most important listen to what she has to say.
