I just recently downloaded limewire on my cousin's computer. I got what I wanted and I deleted it. The only problem is it won't go away! I removed it with add/remove programs and i deleted all program files. but every few seconds, it shows the startup screen and then a pop-up says limewire starup up unsucessful. Can someone help me get rid of this crap?!

Go to RUN in your START menu and type MSCONFIG. Go to the startup section and UNCHECK Limewire.

Also, when you go to your Start menu Programs section. Look for the STARTUP section and RIGHT CLICK on LimeWire and pick DELETE from the popup menu.

Apparently, the Limewire uninstall forgot to remove this.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

Boy oh boy we are having the same problem. I HATE that my son (who visits me on weekends) uses Limewire... he downloaded a song and it just kept coming back up, deleted it, but it's still bugging us. Anyone who can help, please do.
