I have been in a relationship with a white guy before and he found me quite attractive. I wonder if they are stereotyping me or are scared to ask me out or just plain not attracted to me. Any ideas?

stereotyping probably plays a role. they assume that you won't be interested in them because they assume you are in a culture that doesn't permit or recommend intra-racial dating.
don't be shy. if there is a white guy you are interested in, talk to him, get to know him, and let him know your thoughts..

At the end of the day you are a woman - indian or not - it's nothing to do with white guys not asking you out.

Most of all it is probably just ignorance on their part. Most of them probably do not even know your ethnic background but are intimidated about cultural differences. Men are attracted to women of all shapes, sizes, and colors... so don't worry, there are lots of fish in the sea... This is 2006, if you see a guy that you like, ask him out! Take Care.

chances are caucasian guys don't ask you out because many women of other races have no interest in caucasian guys. So they figure why make the effort if I'm gonna get shot down

Without a picture it is hard to tell if they are finding you unattractive, also we are under the impression that Indian people tend to stay with their own race. I hope what you are saying lets all of us guys know that some of you are interested in us.

They probably are sterotyping. They think that ur too "religiou" and wud only date indian dudes. Go out and pursue white guys if thats ur thing. Break the steroetype!

Unfortunately it is most likely because they are culturally scared. You'll have to find a white boy that is well cultured, which is few and far between. Good Luck!

depends if you are native like first nation indian or east indian if you are first nation indian then it can be stereotyping you which is harsh but people are unkind, and if you are east indian then it can be that maybe they think you are already spokenfore because we are taught that east indian women are in arranged marriages and spokenfore at an early age.

There can be so many reasons we can think of. Prejudice or discrimination could be one of them so stop thinking why aren't they asking you out, instead if you prefer caucasian guys, why don't you ask them out?

depends on the guy. If you are buddist that might scare them some. Religion can be a very intimidating thing.
