I hear you, brother. I feel the same way. I have been praying for four years now for God's will, and God's will alone. And I also ask him to help me grow in faith. But when it comes time to ask for something specific, I sort of cower, because I feel so entirely unworthy.
I have spoken with other faithful Christians about this, and what some have said has helped me. Some have said that we're not worthy on our own, but that Christ's blood has justified us. They have told me that if you ask God for something, and say, "If it be thy will"--and if you mean that--then it is okay to ask. God will either provide or he won't, depending on whether or not what you ask for is what he wills. I have also been told that God does indeed like to give gifts and blessings to his children. He is our father, after all--and so we are "allowed" to approach him and ask for stuff. If he sees it best for us, he will provide, and if he sees it as harmful to us, he will not provide.
Essentially, God won't do anything that God doesn't will...obviously. So what I do is continue to seek his will, and I also ask him to teach me how and what to pray for. The key here is developing your relationship with God. And I think the more that God teaches me how to pray, the better I come to know him and myself in relation to him. That is, my unworthiness is based in a number of things, but one of these things is a fear of God--which is a legitimate thing. Fear of his awesomeness, might, and his righteous judgment...very reasonable to fear such a God. It has historically been sort of daunting for me to stand in the presence of such might and ask for something...and hence the feelings of unworthiness. But I think--I think, not know--that God does want us to come to ask him for things, because this deepens the relationship and better teaches us who he is and who we are. If that makes sense to you at all.

Its probably 'common'. There's not really a "normal".
I think its very sad that people feel unworthy of anything. We are all children of God, and God is in all of us.
God is the Creator - If God is a part of us, and we are part of God - then we must also be 'the Creator'. Why would we need to lack anything in our lives? "Ask and ye shall receive"
Its sad that some Religious Organizations try to control people with fear and lack and unworthiness. The key word there is CONTROL.
We are all Gods children, and we are all worthy of all and any gifts from God. Those of us who know we are worthy scare the heck out of the churches. They cannot control us.
So pray, and ask, and receive, and be grateful for everything you get. Saying Thank you for what you receive is a must.

Very normal. We all feel like we are not worthy. I did for sure, but I kept praying as did all my friends and family, and God gave me a second chance here on earth to spread the word, and to SHOW people His greatness. I had N.H. B-cell Lymphoma, stage 3 and very aggessive, I took NO chemo, God spoke to me and I knew that He was in control, the doctors told me I had only 9 mts. to a year, that was in Oct. of 2001. In July of 2002, the doctors were amazed that my cancer was gone, I was declared CANCER FREE in2004. Praise His Holy name. I am only here to share with the world how GREAT GOD IS. Am I worthy of this? By my actions in the past I would have to say no, on the other hand, GOD felt I was. Ours is a loving and true God, only He can say if we are worthy or not, and in His eyes, we all are worthy of His love, God just wants His children to come to Him with everything, He may not answer our prayers the way we want, but he does answer them all in His way and time. God Bless

I have a feeling you comprehend him. you basically have some confusions as to what you comprehend. you're wanting God to take over your life and make it proper. God under no circumstances promised this. God likes patience in prayer. in case you pray and do not get a reaction, you grow to be discouraged and resources up. actual faith in God skill you nevertheless pray notwithstanding you do not imagine he's listening. that is actual faith. because, i'll guarantee you, he's listening--even once you do not imagine he's. God needs you to "comprehend" he's listening--no longer because you "experience" he's listening. emotions are something that ought to no longer be relied on. social gathering: numerous circumstances in my life i idea i replaced into in love. As years surpassed, i realized that it wasn't. So what replaced into I feeling on the time? i comprehend now that it wasn't love.

I do not believe in asking G-d for things-other than the ability to handle my life-good and bad.
I pray many times a day. But, it is to say ''Thank you'' for all the things that happen-even the things we often take for granted, but are good.

It probably is, but just remember if we go to God and confess any known sin to Him He forgives and the blood of Jesus washes away that sin just as I John 1:9 says,"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." He also encourages us to come to Him with our petitions. Luke 11:9 "Ask, and it shall be given you;seek, and ye shall find;knock, and it shall be opened unto you."The Lord's prayer reminds us to call God, OUR Father. Will a father think of his child as unworthy and turn him or her away?

It depends on what you ask JESUS, he gives you what you need, and sometimes things that you want, if he sees fit!
GOD tells us that whatever we want to ask his Son JESUS, so do not worry about having to feel worthy, all of GOD'S Children can come to him!!!!!
