That's what I've been saying for years. When kids try mary jane for the first time they find out that their parents and their school is full of crap and that it isn't as bad as they were told. So, of course they suspect they are being lied to about other things as well. All the war on drugs does is breed mistrust among the younger generation. It has had no appreciable effect on drug use whatsoever.

I'm quite lost by your question.

Where did you see that our government takes dangerous approaches to drug education?

Where's the danger?

If you're saying that a child was taught that Marijuana is fairly harmless by a drug education expert, then that expert needs to be reported. Equally, if 1 "Government Drug Education" expert says such a thing to a child, you cannot blame that on the entire Goverment Drug Education system. That's just obsurd.

A child should be taught by parents, not just outside sources, the dangers of drugs of ANY type (even prescription).

Again, if you're talking about your child being taught this, you definitely need to confront the source and correct the information and tell your child the truth about the dangers of drugs.

If you are the one claiming that you were told by someone that Marijana was harmless and assumed that other drugs were relatively harmless as well? Surely there was more than 1 person in your life who told you a LOT more than that or you learned through school, TV, Newspapers, etc.

This is a very strange question, you might want to clarify.

I don't know if you are referring to American or Canadian government but in the USA there isn't much the government does handle well as far as I cans ee.

I think they make the mistake of not clarifying the dangers of each of the various drugs. They tend to lump them all together. Whereas pot won't kill you, cocaine and ecstacy can. They are chemicals which are cut and manufactured and much more potent that pot or hash.

I think it's very stupid of kids to do drugs. The type of kids who do drugs are very insecure and uncared for type of kids, perhaps they are just born into more of the same too. If they had good relationships with their parents and a good sense of self esteem they would be focused on other more important things and would not be dwelling upon and competing for peer attention. Smoking, smoking pot, drinking, doing drugs...none of these things are attractive and as you grow older you will find you are less accepted by society and as grown, mature adults you will try to "hide" that part of your past. So why bother to start at all. It's not worth the cheap thrill of the moment.

The biggest problem this world has is that parents aren't doing the job of raising their kids right. I don't know where it all went wrong but it did. Things weren't always this way and they don't have to be.

Because marijuana is a harmful drug also. Many people like you think oh let smoke a little pot and see how funny everything is and then we can munch until dawn.

So what about those people who become paranoid? End up homeless living on the streets because they are to busy smoking pot they can't adequately care for them selves?

Just because pot isn't "as harsh" as other drugs doesn't mean it should be legal.
