well, the recipe is for lemon bars, so i already have 1/2 cup lemon juice in it. Should i just forget about the extract?

I would use a combination of fresh-squeezed lemon juice and lemon zest. You'll find more flavor inemon zest.

Lemon juice should work just fine!

If you have a fresh lemon, you can finely grate the peel and use that instead. That fine grating is called lemon zest.

If you want it even more lemony, then use lemon zest.
