I've decided I want to get two tattoos. One of a yellow hibiscus on my foot (for my own personal liking) and one of two praying hands on the back of my hip, for my grandfather. My mom is taking me to get one soon, and I'm not sure which one to get first. It'll be my first tattoo. The hands would obviously be smaller than the foot, but I really like my hibiscus design. Help?

Please don't try to talk me out of getting my tattoos. I've thought it over for several years now and I've made my decisions. I know the consquences and I'm willing to deal with them.

Think long and hard about getting a tattoo. Don't let anyone talk you into it if you have any doubts whatsoever.
Think about how you are going to feel about those tattoos 10 years from now?
Do you understand that it is painful and expensive to have them removed and it will leave a scar?
Do you realize that not all people like or approve of tattoos and this might automatically keep you out of some work positions or even stop a man from asking you out?
Finally, marking your body is a no according to the Bible. If you are Jewish, you will not be allowed burial in a Jewish cemetery with a tattoo.

Just keep in mind, tattoo's do not come off and are more expensive to remove - not to mention there is always a possibility of infection due to dirty needles. All it takes for a Tattoo Artists is to slip up just one time and accidentally use a dirty needle (they are human and not perfect).
Once you weigh these things out and DEEPLY, seriously give them thought, then make your decision. I am not telling you what to do - other than to "think" first.
Personally, the only way I will have a tattoo is if ten men held me down and gave me a tattoo against my will. I might suggest trying a "temporary tattoo" first. Tattoo Parlors that have any merit also have long lasting temporary professional tattoos.

Hands first. Some people do not heal as fast and your foot could take a little bit of time, meaning no shoes...and it's getting cold out (well, it is here in America).

I would DEFINITELY stick with the praying hands=It'll definitely let people know that you didn't get one for some slutty reason AND it'll remind you of him. Religious tattoos are so much deeper than flowers:) But then again....hibiscuses are pretty......but I'd stick with the above
