I love cookie dough but the raw egg in the dough makes eating cookie dough at home very dangerous. When you get ice cream with "cookie dough" it does not have eggs in the dough or else the eggs are cooked in the dough.

oh. my kids use to fight that one got more than the other.I was lucky I had enough to bake the cookies.Even a 42 she still goes for the cookie dough Yummy Yummy in the Tummy.

I only like my cookie dough BAKED into actual cookies! I would NEVER eat cookie dough because it contains RAW EGGS! (YUCK, GROSS!)

Have you ever seen little red bugs in old flour? They are called milk-weed beetles. All flour has the presence of these bug eggs ... when they age, to a certain extent, they hatch. In fresh flour, when you cook the cookies ... it kills the eggs. Hmmm ... gross ... but I think I'd rather eat dead eggs, than live ones.
