For toothache, yes. 300mg every 4 hours as needed for pain is safe. The dosage range is 325-650mg for those 12 and older. Give the med with food to prevent stomach upset. You can also use a commercial toothache preparation, such as OraGel. Consider going out today to buy this and acetaminophen.
On Monday, call her dentist first thing.

Nurofen are best. The only propblem with asprin though is that it makes the blood thinner so it may make the toothache worse as it may cause more throbbing. Just make sure she has some food in her stomach before you give her asprin

Only give her one tablet asprin can give you an upset stomach and 300mg is quiet strong for someone who is twelve.A more natural method for toothache is oil of cloves which you can get from the chemist.
Whiskey on a cotton bud is also a quick releaf of pain if you dip a cotton bud in whiskey and place it on the tooth/gum that hurts it will numb the pain up to you as her mom if you want to do this as an emergancy it is good.
Try and find her a hot water bottle if you do not have one try warming a towel in the tumble drier so it is nice and hot and get her to place it on the side of her face that hurts as this can ease pain and is good as an emergancy for any type of pain.

My doctor had told me that when giving children OTC meds, that you should go by weight. In the case of children and RYE syndrome connected to aspirin....I would consult a doctor on that one. Tylenol should be fine for a 12 year old.

I don't think under 16 year olds are supposed to take aspirin unless under the instructions of a doctor.
Looks like you're gonna have to make a trip the nearest, open-all-hours, chemist.
Look them up in the Yellow Pages or online.

Definitely cut the tablet in half - 300mg is a big pill. Of course, take her to the dentist as soon as they open!
